Lightning scatter (LS)
The ionization created by lightning bolts during an electrical storm may produce brief bursts of DX very similar to MS, but mostly seen on UHF channels where MS is not known to reach. The storm must be at the approximate midpoint of the path; distances range up to 700 miles.
