Icom IC-551D (IC 551 D IC551D) EX-107 VOX UNIT -- Installation

The VOX unit mounts to the lower mounting plate.
See instructions for EX-106 and page 29 of your manual.
- Mount the EX-107 on the lower mounting plate. Mount with the cable toward the centerline of the radio. Secure with 4 screws.
- Route the cable behind the front panel to the top of the main circuit board. Connect the plug to J4 after removing the jumper plug installed at this location.
- Reinstall upper mounting plate and top & bottom covers.
- Adjust VOX gain, ANTI VOX, and VOX delay for proper operation.
- VOX will work on CW as break-in. There is a delay line in the VOX to allow full transmit operation before the first syllable is transmitted and to prevent chirp on the first CW character.
